The difference.

Sweaters: pull-over, light-thick material, sometimes woven and knit.

Sweat Shirts: Commonly referred to as crew necks; Pull over, Stretchy material on bottom and bottom sleeves.

Jackets: Zippers or buttons. Sometimes includes a hood or a collar.

Hoodies: Pull-over; Similar to the sweatshirt except it has a hood and sometimes a single front middle pocket.

Coats: Thicker material; similar to jackets. Meant for cold weather.

Cardigans: Light material, sometimes buttoned. Varies from short-long sleeves. Sometimes low neck line.
